Although true, hunters DO eat, at least the skilled ones do, my name derives from the world of horses.
And because the word hunter is in my name, people automatically think I'm a guy. Not even close.
Whenever I meet someone named Hunter I have to bite my tongue to keep from saying "That's my name, too!"![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)

The next level

I've had a couple of glasses of vino and the guy is taking the dogs to the park. My two biggest distractions are gone. Here goes.
I've been working at my current level for years. I got an increase, that is, I am in a more advanced position career-wise but I don't feel like I've actually grown any. Could be I was working at a higher level when I was in a lower position but at this moment: I'm not any better now than I was then.
Now. The bosses are putting the pressure on us. "us": the people who are "in the field". We have no one looking over our shoulders. We are pretty much on our own. I work really hard and today was nearly overwhelming. There's so much to do. There was so much to do at the previous job - in Hawaii. But no one was working up to the level they should so I was seen as someone who actually DID work up to the level. (is any of this making sense?)
So now I have to actually BE better. Produce what is needed. No one has done that before. I haven't for sure!
I could whine (I can hear my coworkers across the south-eastern US whining from here). I can ignore the direction. "You are being directed to..." came in an email today. Or I can stretch. I love that word.
S - T - R - E - T - C - H .
Do you realize how great of shape you'd be in if you stretched all your muscles before you got out of bed each morning? Okay, don't overdo it!
So now I've been given a chance to stretch. To grow. To help develop something new that will improve our company, our customer service and our value. It's not going to be comfortable. It's not going to be easy. Will I be able to adjust my current level and increase what I'm already doing? I don't honestly know. But I know this. I'd be a fool not to try. If I fail than I deserve no advancement in my career. And if that's so, I'll be content where I am.
I've got to try.

That's the proper attitude to have. Until you try it, you can't honestly say it's not going to work. Who knows, something you learn from this project may temper the rest of your career into something really exciting!
