Thursday ~~ June 5, 2014 ~~ Do you know what is harder that having surgery?

Posted 06-05-2014 at 08:58 AM by CSD610

Being the one who is in the waiting room.

Actually that is not true but it just feels like the waiting is worse than the surgery itself but we all know that is not a true fact.

So here I sit today in the waiting room for the outpatient surgery center and my Husband is currently in surgery. We had to get up at 3:00am, get showered, dressed and drive and hour to get here. Arrival time was 4:45am with appointment time at 5:00am and we beat the staff in...LOL

Oh well, it took a long time to even get to the surgical point so more waiting is fine because the surgery has been started, is somewhere in the middle of the procedure and I should know something within the next couple hours how things went.

Otherwise, how's your day?
Actually I am exhausted, all of this running here there and everywhere from May 18, 2014 until today. Trying to get xrays, blood work, ekg's, doctors, surgery schedules, mri's, more doctors, nurses, more blood work, more ekg's and the carousel continues to go around.

Now onto other new and exciting things............. fooled you, nothing new and exciting in our lives. We are older (he's older than me), married, quiet and dull.

Actually we did have one thing happen that was exciting to me. We met a man who has written a book that is about to released for publication in soft cover and it is currently being processed to be released for the Kindle. The book is not for sale yet but I wrote the title and author down so when it is released I will be one of the first (I hope) in line to purchase and have it signed by the author.

Speaking of words do you know how strong your words can be? Do you know how much effect your words can have on someone?
Do you ever really think about this fact before or after you speak or type something?

Sometimes I do and other times I don't and I really should be more mindful of all of my words before they escape from my mouth or my fingertips. Yes I am harsh at times, yes I am what a lot consider abrasive but I am soft when necessary (in my opinion, your opinion may differ). I am not one to sugar coat or run around the bush several times trying to ease into anything. I am usually very straight forward and to the point, some appreciate it others don't.

I guess my point is I as well as many others really need to be more mindful of the words we use when speaking or typing to others. Those words can help but they can also hinder and hurt.

So, it is 9:53am and I will be waiting for at least another hour if not 2 hours for surgery to be over and recovery to start.

I'll leave you with a few words to ponder if you choose:

When waiting for someone to be done in surgery, make sure your batteries are charged, you coffee is full and you have a good "hiding" place to smoke so the smoking police don't drag you away..

Next, if you play games this would be the time to bring the laptop and play those games.
If you blog this would be the time to bring the laptop to blog.
Whatever you do this would be the time to do it because being busy is better than sitting and staring at ugly puke green color walls.

So, as I leave you for now and thank you for reading these words that have come from my thoughts via my fingertips.
Have a wonderful journey through your life, be mindful of your words in speech and type, restful sleep and pleasant dreams when it is time for you to wander your timbers of slumber~~~~~
