Hello all,
My family will be moving to Philadelphia this summer, likely in August, for a new job near Logan Square. Our goal is to have a walkable commute, so time to and from work can be as predictable as possible given the long hours we're anticipating. We'd rather not have traffic have a bearing on commute time if it can be at all avoided and so are willing to compromise to some extent on space and amenities if necessary. We spent this past summer in Philadelphia, so have some sense of the neighborhoods in the vicinity, but I'm hoping the knowledgeable folks in this forum might have some insight to offer.
We're looking at both renting and buying at this point, and will be doing pretty well financially although we're going to focus heavily on paying off student debt the first year or two. We have 2 kids, who when we move will be about 4 and 1.
Here are the neighborhoods we've been looking at. Would sincerely appreciate any insight or other suggestions.
We are also exploring child care options, primarily nanny shares if possible. Seems like this would obviously be tied to which neighborhood we end up in, so I was wondering if anyone has had luck with any particular resources.
Thank you so much in advance.
