Australia's Late Ameer of Ahmadiyya Community Remembered.

Peace be on you. In my humble opinion, a true religious person is the one who believes in true God and his or her actions are peaceful for creature of God. The person should believe in true God Who is True Deity and has all holy attributes and is free of all weaknesses and is One worthy of worship with no associates and the Source of all blessings. The person should believe in ways of God. Among the ways of God is the Khilafat. Currently only Ahmadiyya Muslims follow a Khilafat of the ardent devotee of Holy Prophet (peace and blessing of Allah be on him). The Khalifah guides the morals and spirituality of followers in all countries of the world so that they can pay rights of God and creature of God. In this Ahmadiyya system of Khilafat, country-incharge is called Ameer, who oversee the development of peaceful spirituality and morals of believers according to Khalifah’s guidance.
One great example of an Ameer is Mr. Mahmood Ahmad Shahid Sahib, who was Ameer of Australia’s Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. He passed away recently.
He was born in the area of Bangladesh sixty five years ago in a pious family. His father devoted him to serve Ahmadiyya Muslim cause; the motivation came from the Second Ahmadiyya Khalifah. He passed his degree from Jamia Ahmadiyya (the religious institution), Rabwah, Pakistan in 1974. He married in 1977 and had four children. Once he recalled that as a youngster, the Second Khalifah (r.a.) placed his hand over him with kindness. He always thought it as a messianic touch.
The third Ahmadiyya Khalifah appointed him leader of Ahmadiyya males for age fifteen to forty years, who advised him to sit in office less and make direct contacts more. He helped making houses for elderly and workers. He collected valuable donations for the translation of Holy Quran.
He served well with respect to Ahmadiyya prisoners of conscience, martyrs and their families in the era of Fourth Ahmadiyya Khalifah who latter appointed him Ameer of Ahmadiyya Jama'at in Australia. In the current time of Fifth Ahmadiyya Khalifah, he continued to serve as Ameer there, where he helped to establish the Community and Ahmadiyya mosques and centers in various cities.
All along his career, he was great servant of faith and humanity. He was ardent devotee and servant of Khilafat, an institution foretold by Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h.).
After presenting the meritorious qualities of him, the Fifth Ahmadiyya Khalifah (a.t.) prayed:
“..he was an excellent helper of Khilafat of the rare kind…… May Allah the Exalted bless and always grant such excellent helpers who are loyal to Khilafat and are dedicated to it and who fulfil their pledge. “
