Interview questions

Posted 03-31-2014 at 05:02 PM by nooshb

My pet peeve are the customary interview questions. For example: tell me about a conflict you had with a co-worker and how it worked out, where do you see yourself in a few years?, tell me about a time you went above and beyond...
Seriously, what kind of an answer do they expect and I wonder how many people tell the truth?
Most smart people who have been through many interviews, learn to embellish or invent an answer. No one in their right mind will bring up an ugly or unpleasant situation they've had. So, in my opinion, they should ask for hypothetical situations and still expect that people will try to tell them what they want to hear. I'm so tired of these pointless interview questions that I wish I could just win the lotto and never have to deal with these employers again. Whoever came up with these standard questions, had no common sense. I'm no good at lying, but I guess I need to get better or invent some heroic scenarios!!
The sad part is that, once people see my work, they really like me, but it's hard even to get your foot inside with this economy.
