Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken.
Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.![Stick Out Tongue](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!
Regards,

Sleep Apparently Not A Big Problem For Ol' Case --- At Unexpected Times
Posted 03-27-2014 at 03:29 PM by case44
You can start calling me Naphead if you like.
Funny how a guy who occasionally takes naps gets only about five to six hours of sleep each night. And last night was about as bizarre as it can get.
Your favorite blogger wanted to write some blog posts last night, but something got in the way. He was feeling tired at the computer, just mere moments after consuming two chicken pot pies for his supper. It's not like I wanted to take a nap, but that urge to lie down took a commanding presence in the stately (well, kind of
) Case abode.
I had gone to my bed to lie down on it at 6:30. That's all. Just 6:30. Maybe it'd be a light nap and I'd be back up and refreshed at 7:30 so I can try to get something written and maybe even listen to Ray Van Steen's movie music program on Dallas' KAAM-AM (770), which sounds great when streamlined on my computer. So, I went to take a nap at 6:30. Want to know what time I got up?? Any guesses? How about 10:15?
Yep.
10:15!
My Wednesday night shot completely to hell. Maybe because Ol' Case felt he hadn't been getting enough sleep on previous nights because I couldn't let go of my day. Well, that, combined with doing my regular sleep routine some thirty minutes thereafter, and I woke up this morning more refreshed to take on another day than I've been for some time.
That was one real hard nap last night. Sometimes, when I konk out, it's done real hard. It's a miracle that my glasses stayed in one piece. Oh, well. When life patterns change for the unexpected, sometimes, fate hands you another deck of cards.
