Sunday ~~ March 16, 2014 ~~ It has been a couple weeks since I've written anything however,

Posted 03-16-2014 at 01:54 AM by CSD610

The last couple weeks have been extremely busy for me plus there have been a few days that I have not felt well which is normal for me. I had to drive a couple hours one day to the state next to us to get some business taken care of which I did. Then I got lost and I was hungry so I stopped at a corner diner looking place and was pleasantly surprised. I stopped at Uncle Benny's Gyros and let me tell you Uncle Benny knows what he is doing when it comes to creating a masterpiece he calls a Gyro. It was the absolute best Gyro I have ever eaten. The Pita was made fresh there in the restaurant, the meat had the most wonderful aroma and flavor and it was very tender, the sauce was smooth and creamy, the onions and tomatoes were cut in big chunks which I loved and I was very hungry since I had not eaten yet. I actually ate every morsel of that Gyro and it was huge and delicious and I don't regret one bite. After that I headed home and had to take a nice long nap since that was a lot of driving for me in one day.

While I was on my way home my cell phone guy called and told me I could get the new cell phone since my cell phone was killed by Apple's latest update but I had to drive 3 hours to go and pick it up. Well poo, I have already drive several hours today and there is no way I can drive several more hours. So I make the appointment for the next day which I am not looking forward to. The next day I get up early, take a shower, get dressed, fix a large amount of coffee, feed the cats, let out the dog then feed him when he comes in and I am out the door and on my way. Three hours to get one stinking cell phone that the latest update broke and I am not being reimbursed for my time or the cost of gasoline but this is the only choice I have so off I go. I stop at one of my favorite truck stops about 1/3 of the way. It is a good place to stop because I always have to use the restroom by the time I get to that point. So I go in and get that business taken care of, get fresh coffee, a large glass of ice, a hot dog, a small container of sour cream and onion pringles and a cherry Dr. Pepper. I spent a few minutes there so I could eat because I do not like to drive while I am eating and a hot dog is almost impossible to eat without being messy. A few minutes later I am on the road again and I am anxious to get there, get my phone and get back home.

I finally get where I am going, walk in, tell the one guy I have an appointment, he tells another guy and that guy tells me to have a seat. I tell him my appointment is at 1:00pm and I will not wait long because I am only there to make an exchange. He tells me I do not have an appointment and I immediately correct him. Him being the guy that answered the phone when I called that particular store and told me there was no way I was going to be given a brand new iPhone 4S for free because "I", yes I, me, myself and no one else "broke the phone because I did not do the update properly".
Now you tell me how can one not do an update properly when all one has to do (in theory) is touch the button that is highlighted that says "update software". That's it, no bells, no whistles, no following other instructions. Touch the button that is highlighted, agree to a couple things and off it goes all by itself. You leave the phone for a while, don't use it, don't touch it, don't unplug it, just set it down and walk away. Which I did set it down and walk away, I went and took a nap.

Anyway, long story short about 1 minute after the guy had me sit in one spot, he told me to move to another spot and another guy started asking me a bunch of questions. By this time I am tired and getting cranky and I am cold and I am thirsty. So I say to him, did you not get the instructions sent by my guy in Philadelphia that specifically says this is a trade only. He says well yes and I said to him "Then why are we having an actual conversation and why do I not have my new phone in my hand and why am I not walking out of the door already". Then he says to me "I need a reason for the exchange".
I looked at him and said "write this exactly as I state the reason for the exchange to you".
"The reason for the exchange is because Apple tech people have no clue what the hell they are doing and when I did the required update on my phone the update released by Apple killed my phone and now it is better used as a very small boat anchor because Apple tech employees have rendered my iPhone a piece of ****". Then I asked him if that was a good enough reason.

He put "Hardware issue"........LMAO and I am not surprised he did not put exactly what I told him. Anyway I finally got that taken care of but I had another issue I wanted to deal with since I was there. So I ask to talk to a Mac guy and they tell me that I need an appointment. I quickly reminded them that I have an appointment and I am currently at my appointment at my appointed time and I have questions that need answered. Well, there was about to be an issue because my appointment was with the "iphone" guy not the "mac" guy.
Right then and there I had decided I had passed "I've had enough BS for one day" and I very calmly stated as a fact to this man the following: I said "I am going to state a fact to you right now. This fact is that I will remain here, in this shop, in this chair until I get my questions answered. I have an appointment, I am here, I am cranky, I am thirsty, I have no job outside of my home, I have no life because my husband is gone working and I can stay here until you close today. Then I can get a hotel room and come back when you open tomorrow and stay here as long as necessary to get my questions answered. I said, this is the mall, there is food, shelter, clothing, bathrooms and free wifi. You have all I need to be quite content and I have my laptop with me so I can be entertained for as long as necessary."

He went at that moment and grabbed a mac guy and amazingly enough I had my questions answered and was on my way out the door, out of the mall back to my vehicle in less than 10 minutes. Funny how these things work sometimes. I was grateful to be back in the car and headed home. I stopped once on the way home to get gasoline and fresh coffee. After that I did not stop again until I backed into my parking spot at our home. I let the hound out, pet the cats, let the hound in and we all went and took a much needed nap.

That takes me to Wednesday which is the first day I did not feel well. Thursday was not a stellar day either. Friday was much better and the rest of the days were progressively better until today, well yesterday (Saturday since it is the wee hours of Sunday). I spent most of the day in bed. I felt like I was sort of getting a cold but not exactly but it didn't feel like the flu either. I think I was just completely exhausted and allergies were giving me fits.

In between all the traveling and getting business outside of home taken care of. I've moved furniture again, sorted some things for the garage sale coming up in May, started getting the bank books input on the computer, the paper part scanned and everything burned onto a disc and loaded onto a jump drive and just for my husband's overkill comfort I'm going to load everything onto an external hard drive as well.
Then all of the actual hard copy paper is going to be shredded then burned. It will be great to not have 8 years of paper in our home. That only counts one bank account though so I have many more pieces of paper to get input, copied to disc, backed up, shredded and burned. There are a total of 6 bank accounts ranging from 1 year of paper to 11 years of paper. This is going to take a while.

Outside of all that excitement it is the daily routine around here. Do dishes, tidy the place up, feed the cats, feed the dog, let the dog out, get laundry done, get other things sorted and ready for the garage sale, get other things sorted, put away properly, labeled properly, fix coffee, drink coffee, play on the game site I go to, get fussed at on the forum, and everything else I usually do daily.

So, since I have more than likely bored you to tears by now and you think I am an absolutely terrible person for being so harsh, I will close for now and leave you with a couple of thoughts to ponder if you choose.

Do you have business that takes you several hours drive time and to the next state to get done?
Would you keep the iPhone after all this mess if you have a choice not to?
Have you found a good diner while lost in an unfamiliar city?
Do you follow Lent and not eat meat on Friday?

As usual I wish you all you deserve in your lifetime. Wondrous dreams and restful sleep when it is time for you wander your timbers of slumber.
