My Daily Life and Thoughts while in San Diego | List of Best Posts
This blog is where I express myself to the world or at least to those who might stop by to read what I post . Maybe God will use what I post (I am a Christian and this blog will have a most decidedly Christian bent to it) to good effect in the lives of my readers.

I may turn some of my posts into a book. I may cease blogging here altogether. Who knows. But for now..I am content to post away in this, my own little corner of the world.

Rather than reading through my now lengthy list of posts you may wish to read what I consider to be my very best posts or you can just read the posts that deal with a single subject category that might interest you.

Please know that I am open to any input on any topic I write about. If you have something to say about anything you see written here please....feel free to speak up in the form of leaving a comment or sending me a PM (private message).

And if you are in San Diego and wish to meet the one and only Carlos (that's me )...drop me a private message. I always enjoy meeting one of my readers!

Thanks.

Carlos

Changing focus of my blog...

I am changing the focus of this blog. Instead of focusing on the living reality of God as demonstrated by the way He provides for my daily needs in the midst of sometimes very trying circumstances, I think I will use my blog to describe every day experiences that I have in San Diego and especially my interactions with people I meet.

My relationship to God is without question the most important thing in my life. What good does it do if a person gains the whole world yet loses his soul the Bible says. How true that is. Nothing is more important than right relationship to God, something I will still write about from time to time. But, at the same time, I think my writing can gain a wider audience and be more influential for God if I do not focus as much as I would like on relationship to Him alone. Rather I want to focus instead, for purposes of this blog, on my relationships with other people. There is such a richness there and such a joy for me to be able to interact with every day folks that I meet all over the place. And there are so many things that might be gleamed from such interactions that might be of interest to others or that might make for a fascinating and very enjoyable read.

We are created in the image of God. With feelings and desires that at their root mirror His. To the extent that I can capture the good that God intended us to be, that I can come in contact with feelings and desires either in myself or others that reflect those I find in God, to that extent I can perhaps lift the spirit of my fellow man to look higher into the face of God. At least that is my hope.

So many of us go about our everyday lives without seeing the richness that life can be right under our very noses. I have lived that way most of my life but, I have come to realize through writing this blog and the input of those who have commented on what I have written here and elsewhere that to some extent, I have an apparently marvelous gift to see things in everyday interactions with others that make those interactions come alive. That lift them into the realm of the fascinating instead of the mundane. Perhaps even to capture something beautiful and uplifting in those interactions. I want to write about that.

To be sure there is much in this world that is depressing. Unjust and downright evil. There is much that needs to be said about such things. But there is also a need to capture some of the beauty that God created in us as human beings. I get such satisfaction by connecting with my fellow man as I go about the business of everyday life that sometimes I find myself wanting to ride the trolley going nowhere in particular, just so I can be around people and perhaps connect with them and experience once again the richness that life can be when such connections are made. The most fulfilling thing of all for me is when the life of God in me has reached out and touched the life of another. There is no greater purpose for me in this life, no greater calling, and no greater expression of God's living reality than that.

I think that refocus is a good idea, Carlos. It's like reading chapters to see what happens each day to this character named Carlos! We know and understand your relationship with God, and you are probably right that many people are really interested and intrigued by how you go about daily living to sustain yourself, find jobs, the people who lead to other things, and the many other topics everyday life there can provide.

Good luck to you this week -- I'll be reading to see what happens!

    Thanks for posting all this.

Thanks very much for sharing your thoughts on my blog focus change Wisteria!

    Much appreciated.

I have so very much to write about...that the problem I am having, is not lacking things to write about but rather finding the time to write it all out.

Among the items that I will be posting about will be...

    - The poor man with the horribly disfigured face who talks to me after I ask him if he got beat up or something.

    - A Homeless man gives *me* ten dollars! Unbelievable!

    - Out of the mouths of babes on the bus I find amusement and comfort.

    - Officer shows mercy to Mexican going to San Yisidro who has no ticket on trolley.

    - The Christmas tree of lights that greet me at the Mexican border.

    - The Mexican connection and what I learn about money making opportunities from the Mexicans.

    And other such things.

This is such fun and so incredibly fulfilling for me to do.

Anyway stay tuned for more. Got's to go to Hometown Buffet again....see ya.

I appreciate hearing from you Anita but, not sure why you are asking me about rebuilding permits in Texas since I live in San Diego...might be better for you to ask on the Texas forum here instead of on a blog like this one.
