Moving from NJ to Atlanta, GA

Hello everyone, need some suggestions: finally, after six years from our fist visit to Atlanta, our family has decided to move out of Jersey. I loved Roswell and Alpharetta when we visited. Obviously, my husband needs to find a job first before we jump ship. We would like a place with good schools, easy access to stores, shopping centers, things to do - places to visit, kid friendly community, and of course not too long of a commute to the city.
Any other cities will be considered as well. We plan to visit spring break and see if we still have 'that loving feeling' for Atlanta.
