Keeping busy

I got up early this morning, and brought some more firewood up to the house. Made cinnebuns for the kids for breakfast, and took my daughter to school.

While I was there, I stopped in at the school office. A couple weeks ago, I filled out paperwork to make sure I was the default number if the school needed to reach me, instead of the ex wife. I still had not received a phone call from them in regards to anything, including snow day changes. The secretary looked in the system and sure enough, it hadn't been fixed yet. So I insisted she please change it now, and she made a comment about the number of absences my daughter has had. I asked her to elaborate, and she sent me to the attendance office. Guess how many times my daughter has missed classes this past semester? Nope, higher than that!! Try 79 times!! And 44 tardies!!! Are you kidding me?!?! (I haven't even stopped at this point to debate if I should confront the ex on why she was not informing me of all the calls SHE was getting in regards to this matter. What a witch!!)

Next stop is the guidance counselors office. I inquire with her on what are the chances at this point my 18 year old child is not going to fail out on lack of attendance, regardless of grade point average. I found out, her grades are just as crappy as her attendance at this point. So I asked the counselor to page my daughter to her office. I wish I had a camera at the moment she walked in!! I was very careful not to unleash all the pent up anger and frustration that has been building in me, out on her. But made it clear, that I was pissed. We are meeting with all her teachers on Friday morning to discuss what it is going to take to get her out of this mess. Good news is she has a whole semester to get it fixed, but wow! Needless to say, she won't be going out for a while and she is beside herself with the injustice! Tough sh*t.

So after that, I went to the laundry mat. Last week the seal on the back of the washing machine, froze and blew out, so it's shot until it gets warm enough to drain the damn thing and swap it out. Now, on the bright side! I love going to the laundry mat!! It's a huge ego boost as every woman fawns all over a man who does the families laundry. They all chat me up and I'll make my little flirty comments like, "Take me home and feed me, and all this can be your's <wink>", HAHAHA they eat it up!

Then I went grocery shopping. The pet store to get dog and cat food. Bank, post office, back home to unload, and then back out to go pick up my daughter. I gave her another follow up lecture while I took her to work and then back home to make dinner.

Ate dinner with my son, and we watched a show called Brain Games on Discovery channel, (cool show). Finished the blog about my boss, knocked out this one, and now I am about to go get my daughter from work again.

Thank goodness I have the ladies at the laundry mat to balance out my mindset!!
