And just like that I've got a new job. Someone I've known for decades lives in Cincinnati Ohio. They are willing to open a bakery if I agree to run it. Crazy. Offered profit sharing and moving expenses! I told her I have to sell my houses down here first but I should be able to relocate by end of summer.

I know nothing about baking! Not that it matters. She just needs someone to run the operations and that is something, with my experience, that shouldn't be a problem. She is an advertising executive, who has always dabbled in creating incredible desserts and treats. I see a lot of coffee and 3 o'clock mornings in my future!!

I've been very lucky in my life to fall in to the next thing. I've never even had to apply for a job and wait for a reply. I've never let my lack of knowledge of a field allow me any hesitation either. I've been very fortunate!

I used to sell art work door to door, and sold some to a restaurant. They hired me to work in their kitchen, eventually it led to me relocating and managing a whole restaurant. One evening a customer came in and offered me a job to manage his haberdashery. Two years later, his wife offered me a job at her company selling cell phones in the late 90's. I worked in the cell phone industry for 8 years and then got down sized. On a whim and for something to do, I helped a buddy on occasion with landscaping. That led me to a job working at a plant nursery, which in turn led me to work for two other landscapers and here I am now.

The haberdashery was one of the most enjoyable jobs I've had. The gay man in me really enjoyed matching up swatches of fabrics, suits and ties. The least expensive suit in this store was $700, the high end was $3000. I once sold a customized suit that was just shy of $30,000. I had one gentleman come in and spend $67,000 in suits, shirts, ties, suspenders, and belts in about 2 hours!! That is the price of a house for some people!!! I couldn't imagine, even if I had a bazzilion!! I do have to admit though, a $300 pair of pants feels like you are walking around naked, and they never wrinkle!!! The only reason why I left is that it aimed at such a small target market, that I would have never made any real money at it. It was a father/son owned business, and I wasn't ever going to be able to cut in to their pie.

And pie brings us back full circle. Let's go get baked!!!
