Ohh, Baby it's cold out there

I wish I had a camera. I likely wouldn't carry it, since it would most certainly get broken, but there are times when I come across something that is really photogenic. I have an aquarium in my yard that has some water plants in it. This morning the water has frozen solid and the crystals against the glass look beautiful. A few weeks ago I had at least a hundred little finches that settled on a pu88y willow in my yard. They made a crazy musical racket as well, but it still would have been a cool shot.

There was also a cardinal that kept trying to peck through one of my windows this morning. I slapped a halloween sticker on the window but that didn't work. Now I have a feather duster up there wearing a pair of glasses and that seems to have done the trick. HAHA Nevermind, Crazy bird just moved to another window. Update: A couple hours later. He has moved to yet another window now! He is my little avian stalker! Freddy "the cardinal" Krueger with tiny talons.

I'm a little disappointed in myself after spamming the boards here the past few days. It smells like desperation and neediness. So does this blog, but the difference is, you coming here to read this drivel as opposed to me thrusting stupidity out on the boards. I'll probably be a little more self conscience about my posts for a bit.

It's cold this morning and it's supposed to get a lot colder in the next few days. HAHA I don't run heat in my house. Currently my room is 44 degrees. I can see my breathe most mornings. The difference is, it typically gets only gets down to mid to upper 20's and now they are calling for 6 in the next few days! Damn!!

My house looks likes like a brick barn. Very open ceiling. It is a ***** to heat!!! My first December here, five years ago, my heating bill was over $400. Mid Feb, i cut them off and haven't been on since. There are small electric heaters we have for each of the rooms at night, but I haven't used mine since "the ex" left. At night it doesn't matter, I have blankets. During the day if I feel if I am going to just lounge around playing on the computer or something, it should be done with a little discomfort. If it feels to cold, then maybe it's time to get up and do something productive. We do have a nice fireplace in the living room, and that's been my trick to keep the family hanging out together in the evenings. Granted my family has pretty much been reduced to my son and I, but still. We hang out a lot. Unless he wants to watch Glee, and then I usually head off to my room.

Speaking of cold nights. I've gotten into the habit of letting my dog sleep on my bed. This isn't something he used to be allowed to do, but now it seems like so much empty bed he might as well. We don't spoon, I'm not that freaky.
My dog G is about 4 years old now. He is a chocolate lab that was pushed out by his sibling's and couldn't get a teat. He was so small and weak, he looked like a squirrel. I used to keep him in my coat to keep him warm. Over time, like most things do, he grew. He is now a beast of a dog! Easily weighs in about 110 to 120, is as tall as I am when he stretches out and still thinks he is a lap dog!!! HAHAHA
He is my buddy. We wrestle and play fetch, I'm getting pretty good at it too. A year after G was born, G's mom had another litter, and the ex got a yellow lab. I don't know if our dogs could recognize they were related but they really hit it off. Ran and played all the time. When the ex left and took her son and her dog; me, my son, and my dog each had to deal with our own loss. My son still gets to hang out with his brother once a week, and G and I are still just coping. (at least I get to blog. His nails would destroy my keyboard). His beard has suddenly gotten white much like mine did when I turned 43. It's funny how our pets resemble us sometimes. I named him G, because on his chest is a medallion that looks like a number 7. G is the 7th letter of the alphabet. I was going to give him a name once I learned his personality, but G just stuck. Sometimes when I'm pissed at him for chewing up one of the fireplace gloves or something, his name changes to Geseph Alexander Micmicklesticker. Don't know what it means, but it's seems cooler than cussing at him.

I should be out cutting up some of the trees mother nature and I have knocked down here in the past few weeks. I'm not motivated to do it today, it's to cold HAHAHA I work out in this weather so I can't really use it as an excuse, it's too cold, or too hot. But there are times where if I'm not getting paid for the hard manual labor, I'm less than enthusiastic about jumping in and getting it done.

NFL playoff's start this evening. I'm excited. It's been a crazy season, and surprisingly, the Superbowl could still be anybody's game. I'm a Panthers fan and it feels good to have a dog in the hunt, but most of all, I just want the games to be competitive. I hate blow outs.

Might add more later....we'll see.
