What Kind of News do You Read?

Today's news said that Walgreen's had a profit of $695 million for the last three months of business. That was from $18.33 billion in gross sales.
The Walgreen's in my neighborhood is always very busy and the employees seem to be over worked, rushing from cash register to the isles to put up stock. My guess is that they are paid just a little over minimum wage and are not worked a full 40 hours in order to avoid paying benefits.
Few regular workers follow business news but they should; it is here where they can get a glimpse of the money that is swirling all around them.
Let's say that thousands of Walgreen employees were to use a face book closed group page and to make themselves fully aware of all the money Walgreen's has in profits, then surely it would motive them to make some kind of group action to get a little more for themselves so that they could support their families.

If a Walgreen employee makes $ 8.85 per hour and works 30 hours per week, that gives them a gross income of $ 265.50. Then $ 20.31 would come out of that for S.S. [ that's a good investment ]. Taxes might be about $ 20 which would be returned the following year. This would leave $225.19 take home pay, about what most people will pay for a months use of electricity. If you think of housing, food, clothing and the cost of sending children to school, it' easy to see that $225 per week doesn't stretch very far. The trouble is that the average person doesn't know what to do bout it.
