Tattoo
There are only a few reality shows that I watch. One is Faceoff. A movie make up show. The other is Best Ink, a tattoo show. Both use an elimination process to create a single winner by the end of the season. Both shows are made up of contestants who I would consider are artists in their own right.
The make up artists are much more open to helping each other, despite it being a contest. They seem supportive of one another emotionally as well. As a group there seems to be a greater cohesion. I enjoy this show!
The tattoo artists are almost a complete opposite. Fiercely independent! Very cut throat and catty. A much tougher show for me to enjoy and I love the art of tattoo.
Currently, on the Best Ink show there is a tattoo artist on there MaiMai. Her personality is incredibly similar to my wife's and is really making this show really difficult to watch. This is only the second week, but I keep praying she gets voted off soon. She is really screwing up my chi!!
I only have a couple tattoos. I'd have more, but there just seemed to be a lot of more sensible ways to invest my money. I do have several drawings I keep in a folder just in case I ever hit the powerball.
I feel that tattoos are an interesting medium to tell my life story with out words. I only have one tattoo that I got on a whim and it by far is my least favorite. Oddly enough, it is also my least technically skilled tattoo. I'll likely have it covered some day.
My daughter shines with her illustration ability and had been toying with the idea of becoming a tattoo artist herself. That would be cool. Maybe if her skills get to a certain level, I'll allow her to use me as a practice canvas
