Pope Francis

I Have spent several hours now reading about Pope Francis in this issue of Time. He tells priests to feed the sheep, to think of themselves as servants and comforters to people who are hurting; to render communion as spiritual nourishment and not as a prize for
perfection. There is no doubt but what Catholics have deep systemic problems but when you really think about it, so do protestant denominations as well.
Only about 3 percent of the people in this area are Catholics and that means that we can say anything or think anything we want to about them and there’s nothing they can do about it.
However since there are 1.2 billion Catholics worldwide [ nearly the size of China ] and that they have had a history and an identity that predates all over movements, perhaps we should get updated on their history. Their strongest presence here locally is Memorial Hospital. Some years ago you could see nuns working in the hospital's corridors. Now they seem to be confined to the administration of their “mission”.
Those who have heard Pope Francis, personally and was able to understand him say that, “ He talks about Christ’s love like a man who has found something wondrous and wants nothing more than to share that love. “ He ends his sermon with; “ We are on the way to the Resurrection, this is our joy that one day we all together will meet Jesus.” It is hard to think of someone who shares this kind of hope as being the anti-christ. Yet many do put him in that category.
