Center Target in post falls....the yelp nasty little secret
So when I moved to the area about 3 years ago I got a 1 year family membership at this indoor gun range. Though you can use a shotgun or 223 it's still in door and warm meaning year round target practice and primarily focused on hand guns.
I'm quite sorry I paid almost 500 bucks as I only went 4 times before becoming fed up with the employees and the nanny state rules they run the range with.
3 of the 4 visits I was asked to move to another stall even though I was at the one I had been told to use...the reason? My 12 gauge Benelli was to loud...yep imagine that a gun is loud...who would have thought that.
I told the clerk before he or she gave me a stall that I would be shooting big boy guns, not 22's and yet they placed me near pop gun users all the time only to move me after about 20 rounds.
The next issue was the constant observation by the employees. I'm not talking a normal safety oriented amount but an over the top, over your shoulder, trying to catch you at anything they don't like sort of thing.
I've talked to several others who also dislike this range, yes it's a nice range but the complaints are always around how the employees are far to strict and they make you feel nervous, which sucks the fun out of shooting.
Now what about that Yelp conspiracy? Well I've tried to post several reviews on Yelp about Center Target and oddly they never are allowed to be posted or they are pulled or they are marked as not trustworthy. I've seen others have their reviews treated the same way.
So of course Center Target has 5 stars Yelp is being paid off to pull negative reviews. Or they are just pulling them at Centers request.
If you need an indoor range and don't mind the mother in law looking over your shoulder feeling and you really only need to fire a poodle shooter or small handgun this place could be the answer but I for one built My own range so I was free to have fun.
There are also some nice outdoor ranges like the Shoshone public range near Kellogg that are far nicer and more fun to practice at.
Note Shoshone public has a 500 yard gong as well so you can stretch out some firearms.
Good shooting friends.
