The Hundred Million Dollar Highway

Posted 11-28-2013 at 01:52 PM by Fortoggie

The hundred million dollar highway. When I drive the 19 miles to Hixson, I am using a roadway that cost more than a 100 million and that's not counting the Chickamauga dam. This is called a smart highway and I am under camera surveillance most of the way and the motion of my car is also monitored from the ground level. With some 18,000 cars and trucks per hour it takes this high tech system to know where a problem develops. Millions are on the roads and in the air this weekend supported by trillions of dollars of investment and countless hours of work. Is it all paid for? No ! But isn't it OK to let all the new drivers help pay for the roads, they will use, over the next 40 years?
