Battle of the Sexes...and then some!

Ever watch that show on HGTV, Battle of the Sexes?
Well, I always loved that show, although I just could not believe that a man would be that involved in choosing items for a home, or be that upset if he didn't get this or that.
Well, dh is proudly proving me wrong. After 26 + years and one house under out belt, he is suddenly becoming quite vocal on what he likes and dislikes in a home.
If you remember, a few blogs back, I posted about pouring over many house plan books to find that 'just right' house for me, after all, dh had said that this one could be what I wanted.
Or so he said...
Last night, after getting a couple of the magazines down, I sat by him on the couch and asked him to look at them with me. With a sigh, he leaned back and we started. Of course, I pointed out what I liked or disliked with each plan. And on the few that I really felt could go on the final cut, I asked his opinion.
Humph, he didn't like this one, nor that one. Asking why, he would just say just because. After a few minutes, I finally got him to tell me why, as it was very important that I knew, especially since I did want him to like the house as well.
He does not like the 'doghouses' on top of the roofs. He does not like anything that remotely resembles a decorated porch, he just wants plain and not fussy. He does not like the fact that all those rooms will be for nothing, too this and too that!
Frustrated to no end, I finally asked him if he thought we would be better off just staying put.
Know what his answer was?????
"No, I don't want to live in town anymore...besides....
I want You to have the house YOU want"
Go figure.
It is true, men are from mars and women are from venus!

LOL...interesting commentary on male/female relations, and the way we think.

From a guys point of view..we (I)just arent into details that much. I think, yep, I like that one, while my wife looks at angles and this and that, and when I say I dont like this or that, for me, it really just means im not interested in it, dont mean I dont want it or wouldnt be happy with it, thats why I leave the "picking out" part up to her most of the time. so much simpler that way, and I dont have to get into "details" lol
