looking for place to move/suburb/near NYC

Hi,
I am looking for advice where I should move to?
I work in grand central 42 street, NYC . Currently living in nj, Hudson county.it takes me around 1 hour to get my office(. Bus to port authority, then walk to grand central 25 minutes).
I don't need to go to city everyday, I can work home. Let's say, go to office twice per week.
I like to move a quite place. Has privacy when I sit in the deck. Not too close to neighbor. I like outdoor activities. Quaint town with shops and restaurant. Suburb feeling but close to everything.
Safety is most concern. No need school rating to me.
Small property is fine to me, location is more important than size. prefer to buy.
Train or bus transportation directly to NYC not take longer than one hour.
