Sargasso Restaurant, Morgantown, WV Oktoberfest 2013

Sargasso of Morgantown, WV, http://dinesargasso.com, hosted its 3rd annual Oktoberfest festival October 5, 2013. Fun and friendly, was the atmosphere under the tent beer hall. Guests were able to enjoy many of the traditions from Germany that have made Oktoberfest famous. Authentic German food and beer were on tap all day.

Live entertainment by the Mad Bavarian, who had the crowd joining arms, singing German songs and even yodeling. The WVU German club members were also on hand to lead guests in German beer songs and Oktoberfest competition games.

Excellent German fare was served buffet style from 11:30 am until 9 pm, featuring traditional Bavarian dishes, including pretzels, Bierwurst, Weisswurst made with veal & pork, Schnitzel, sauerbraten, potato pancakes and spatzle.

Desserts included traditional Apple Strudel and Black Forest Chocolate Cake with sweet crème and cherries between the layers.
