moving to kalispell mt

I am moving to Kalispell in December. I live in Myrtle Beach SC now. Born and raised in Maryland. I just want to get some info on the area and what its like to live there. I am transferring with my job so work is not a problem. I am also looking for a cabin to rent when I move there. Have 2 dogs so I have been having a hard time finding a place on craigslist. Im excited but a little scary. I will be leaving my family. it will be just my husband and I. Also, is it hard to make friends? We like to get out for drinks at least once a week.
