Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken.
Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.![Stick Out Tongue](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!
Regards,

Soft Rains In North Texas Tonight
Posted 09-19-2013 at 07:30 PM by case44
Just when it seemed that it might never rain again, need I remind myself that I live in Texas..............and that I'll need to wait a few minutes?
Well, wait, I did, and things began to change.
Okay, so no sunrise view for me come Friday morning, but there's something I don't get very much right now that's going on. When I wake up in the morning, we might have a lingering, soft rain in North Texas. You know, I don't mind having a few mornings like that, and there sure haven't been many lately. I'll linger in the bed a while while I wake, and experience what is happening on the other side of the patio window. That sound. That sound of soft rain and soft thunder and a little lightning. That beckoning sound of relaxation. Don't have to go to work. Oh, I'll go to the endocrinologist at 8 and then out to breakfast before I do some....
Case! Get back to that soft rain thought.![Big Grin](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Like a perfect dream, with me under the covers and the lamplight on, and the sounds from outside, just letting the senses go to a far-away land, far from reality. If it comes true, I won't need a sound machine to make things happen. Relax. Let the raindrops do the talking. Let them laugh a while. Let them whisper a little. And if it somehow doesn't happen.....
How can it not happen when there's an 80 to 90 percent chance of thunderstorms in my forecast? For this one time, I say, bring on the rain.

Hope your day was good!Posted 09-19-2013 at 07:54 PM by nvrfinished -
^^^^ Great story, NVR. Hope your day was good, too. As much as I like sunshine, sunrises, and sunsets, we need rain. I just hope tomorrow's rain ends before the high school football game I'm going to at 7 pm.
