One Cure for the Blue Collar Blues

Posted 09-15-2013 at 01:50 PM by Fortoggie

A lot of cures need to be applied to the blue collar situation and it has to start with each worker themselves. Here's something every person can do for themselves.
1. Spend time and energy on not making mistakes.
Far too much time and energy is spent, trying to dig oneself out of making mistakes.
A. Words said in the work environment, opinions expressed, arguments over politics, religion even sports can set up serious repercussions.
B. You are just killing a little time on the weekend and stop in at the Car dealership. Before long you are leaving with thousands of dollars more in debt. That takes a whole lot of digging to get out of that one.
C. It's your day off and you spend it in a way that makes you sick or causes you to get injured [ Monday is the most missed work day of the week ]
So lets go back to the cure. " An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." Spend a lot of time thinking before you speak or before you act. On Sunday, people go to church and the preacher says; you are suppose to go out and share this good news. Well it's not good news to the boss are to the company. It costs the company money for talk; to go on about religion, coon dogs or sports. So bite your tongue!
It's a good idea to write down your purpose in working. It might go something like this. My reason to work each day is to provide for me and my families future
Nothing in you work goal should say anything about winning arguments at work, making the car dealer rich or in behaving on the weekend in such a way as to cause you to miss on Mondays.
Remember it's your life and your future and no ones to figure it out for you. That's your personal responsibility.
