Mystified : Under the Dome

The word mystified came to mind as I watched the most recent episode of," Under the Dome." The residents of Chester's Mill, have still not figured out why a large dome has settled over their city. Like so many of us who can't figure out how we came to live under the big blue sky; when it appears that no other planet can sustain life.
That doesn't keep the very young in CM from believing that they have got it figured out. Sound familiar? Most of us thought we had it all figured out when we were in our twenties; right?
Others have quit trying to answer, why or how but have moved on to, 1. To eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we ... oh well you know how that goes. 2. Others are spending their time digging up dirt on their fellow residents; under the circumstances it doesn't matter who did what to whom but like under our own dome, certain ones feel obliged to dig dirt. 3. Then of course others are working angles to make money; when the end comes they want to be the ones with the biggest pile of loot.
Mystified is the word for the week. That's how the human race has lived down through it's long history.
