R.I.P.Old Sarasota

Posted 08-01-2013 at 06:56 PM by Sunwilt

I am really glad I could enjoy Sarasota before the Big Developers got ahold of it.
Before they paved over the old landmarks like The John Ringling Motel,The Palmer Bank, and the Villa Goodrich Motel all in the name of "Progress"
Now it's a place I hardly recognize with all the Hi-Rises and Blocked Beach Access.
Building More and More Developments just to cater to the allmighty dollar is pretty short sighted IMHO.
A Once Sleepy Town with a uniqueness all it's own is turning into a stamped out replica of other tourist towns.
