Driving from Columbus OHIO to Raleigh: how safe is the drive through West Virginia? Any advices? :)

It "LOOKS" like the rest of the way is on a US Hwy (hwy 35?). If it's indeed a US Highway, they are typically built to good standards too, so same notes apply, with just a little more caution. Just drive safe, and remember to take breaks and get out and move around every hour or two so you're alert.

Funny story, but in 1990 we drove from Boone to Cleveland for a concert. We were all a bunch of long-haired hippies back in the day. Driving through the night. At about 230 AM, in the middle of "Nowhere, WV", the van, carrying 7 of the 11 people in our 3-vehicle caravan broke down.

A bunch of hippies, stranded in WV, at 230 in the AM, and I have to say that "windy roads" were the least of our worries. (Somehow I still love the sound of banjo's, but I digress....). A couple of the guys knew what needed to happen, so we left them behind, they fixed the van, and we all made it to the concert.
