Never Use the Word "Old" ~ Just Forever Young
Posted 01-28-2009 at 02:01 PM by Summering
Do you find sometimes that now that the years have hurried by...you are in the ages some title as "old."?
That word makes my ears ring.......
Perhaps, it is because I do nothing much different from when I was twenty.....Nor, do I think different, feel different, or have less interests. In fact I enjoy a lot more things then ever before.
There is this perception, by some, that "older" people sit around, mope...drive slow....stop the town progress...eat soup all day...complain...have no basic interests..and must be courted upon.
I find it unpleasant to only talk about the young and the beautiful....Because the years will go onward for you too... if your one of the lucky ones...
All people are beautiful in their own way.
I am so glad that in my life I have had all ages be my friend.
I am not a "be my age" or please stay away kind of person......
I enjoyed the Brazil girls that came to the Poconos this past winter. We are still friends. I am friends with my own girls long time friends. It is a joy to have all ages in our life.
A phone call today revolved around a second grader. A neighbor of our daughters..........who for his paper on
" What is Manufactured goods and who makes it" did a picture of a golf ball, with my husband next to it. Because he is waiting for a carving from him...( which is in the works as we speak).....So the manufactured goods to him was a hand carved golf ball....by " poppy"
On our table is a carving of a dolphin for our teenage niece. Just about ready to be sent out...
This, because all ages are of value to us.
I want to place value on everyone, and every age. I want you to know I value YOU no matter what your age or well being.......
With age come the experience of having gone through ,or been there, in times of past history. Its not from a book but from being in that place in time....
We have lived with the hero's of the Wars. And lost dear loved ones in the Wars too.....
But, life goes on and life is good.
I'd like to take the word " Old" and put it in a attic trunk for nostalgic sake.......
There really isn't a place for that word.
Treat one as if they were forever young...Listen to their wealth of information..Enjoy their stories.
One day it will be you....You will get to the "forever young" stage.
Here is hoping life is good...you party on...you hug your friends...you help your town...you venture onward in this World..and...I'm betting you do!
And.......if someone says "Old" just smile and carry on. Sometimes it takes pure wisdom to let it go...
For you, my friends, to me are ...
" Forever Young"

Don't get old...
I was always told...
but isn't so bad, as I've come to see...
if you've cared for and nurtured your family tree.
Love your words Summering, Old FriendPosted 02-11-2009 at 06:25 PM by poconoproud -
I just registered today and wonder if there are blogs
concerning lists of auctions or entities to help find
forclosed properties for sale in NYC. I never have tried
this in the past and am blundering all over the internet
and finding some tricky people out there. Can anyone
offer advice? I'm tired of paying the landlord's mortgage.
By the way, I'm happy to still be alive but not thrilled
with growing older. Well-thank you!Posted 02-13-2009 at 02:00 PM by Alexanna
