On account of one thing leading to another!

She was pretty, well proportioned and easy to communicate with; that's why we fell in love with Missy. She seemed to like our place and gave us all her attention; until. Until she went into heat.
My gosh,; did you know that a tom cat can smell a female in heat for as much as one mile away.
Now we had two toms howling outside our door and Missy couldn't wait to go to them. What to do?
We found a clinic 20 miles away in Red Bank, Tn., that only does neutering and spaying and they do it for $52 are about half what the average Vet does it for.
So away we go to be there at 8:00 AM and low and behold there were 30 ahead of us. Filled out the forms, paid the money and read on the sign that the clinic had done over 68,000 procedures in the last six years.
We left Missy and was told to pick her up the next morning at 7:30 AM.
Next morning there were 50 of us waiting in line to pick up our slightly wounded pets. The dogs were barking and peeing on the floor, waiting to get out and Missy and the felines were coiled up in their cages, hoping the dogs wouldn't notice them.
For years I had a sign on my office wall that said, " [u]there is no end to how complicated things can get, on account of one thing leads to another[u]." It's still true.
We just wanted to be nice to a stray cat then she touched our better selves and now we have driven 80 miles and basically committed ourselves to watching over her while she recuperates for the next several days. All of that and now she is mad at us for putting her through the ordeal.
