Well its Spring Minot. An its time to shake the dust off and gets some training done. If anyone is interested in learning Kempo/Karate. This style is not for timed, it is an very hard style. And everyone is not excepted as an student. I am very old school about the values and moral of the art. I rather have 1 true student and then an 100 that are commercialize. No Drinking or smoking in order to be an good role model one must be are high character to an representative of the Arts. My system is called Hunter Shotokan Kempo Karate. Its is an blend of Japanese and Chinese fighting systems in which I have combined from my 2 teachers of the Arts. I have tried and tested my system on the mean streets of Houston 5th Ward, where violents and crime was a way of life, it was and do or die environment. Karate gave me an way out and help mold me into an man. It help me overcome fear, it had given me power over the bullies, in which I discipline an lot of them. You see I never started trouble but I did finished it. But that was my younger days and as an beginner in the Arts. As an kid I took to the Arts as fish to water, and I trained morning day and night, we use to have private fights were other neighorhood or high schools would challenge us, so this gave me an chance to test out my skills, there were no rules then, you know it was go for what you know. So I would pick 1 technique I wanted to test, for example like the back fist, so I would win the fight with one technique that I had prefected. Man those was the good old days, if you got whoop, you took like a man and when on. I went from fighting on the street to fighting open tourament and did very well.In 1989 I had place 4th in the State of Texas for fighting in an 6 months time frame. But as I have gotten older and deeper in to the Art, I realized that there is much more to this art than just kicking and punching and hurting and another human being and that the true enemy in within ourselves our on ego and pride and that is our biggest battle. Well that my blog for today with an lil trip down memory lane. God blessed. Peace.
