Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

America, We Get Exactly What We Deserve

America has long been a country rich in tradition and history. Go through many history books, and you'll see all the events that helped shape our great nation into the powerful country that we all know and love. You'll turn page after page, and you will find presidents who have served our land and other people who've helped define America's history in numerous relationships of life, from fighting wars to establishing states to inventions to new ways of life. Freedom was our mantra, along with life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

We were the most powerful nation on this planet.

Notice in that last sentence that I said "were". The country that has won so much, built so much, and established so much through the years.............is slipping. We were a free country, one where anybody can come to this place and be free of tyranny, bondage, oppression, depression, and destruction. They can live the American Dream, in a safe haven, free from tyranny and living a life of liberty and freedom.

Where's that dream now?

For a lot of people, that dream is slipping away. Slipping away, thanks to someone whom we've elected to serve as a public leader in the hallowed halls of the White House, one who was voted on to bring something new, something different in a national economy that needed a boost. Instead of the tune of "hope and change" as promised, we've gotten something blatantly different. In 2008, the majority of Americans voted for a fellow who would become the first black president of these great United States. His name is Barack Hussein Obama. He's the guy some of us have tapped to be our leader to get America rolling once again. He's also the guy who fooled everybody into thinking he was a moderate Democrat running on a theme of "hope and change". Instead, he is bringing socialism, tyranny, and big government to our nation, through various appointees whom many of us do not know, through health care laws such as Obamacare (or the Patient Protection and Affordable Health Care Act), and through his own actions to hasten new governance through rash decisions he's made by means of Executive Order. In other words (and in my perspective), he's done everything necessary to violate the U.S. Constitution and all that it contains, just to do what he wants to inflict discomfort among our brethren.

Look what has happened to this country called America in the last four-plus years. From one lie after another to cover up what his real plan for America is, proceeding to make people believe something else is going on all the while, and all in an effort to distract us from what is really going on, President Barack Hussein Obama is using those things to "fundamentally transform" America. Suddenly, the American people no longer have a right to know. I don't know about you, but that disturbs me. What kind of leader in his right frame of mind would do something like that? If I pulled the same stunt trying to purposefully pose damage on the American people by causing burdens through tax increases, fees, fines, threats, intrusions, regulations, overreaches, and the like, y'all would just crucify me. Our nation's media isn't helping, either, as it isn't doing the job it's supposed to be doing, which is reporting the news, not manipulating it. President Hope and Change is being treated like a king by the people in the media, probably because he's got this "presence" and a good speaking voice. NBC, ABC, CBS, and the Associated Press are just terrible with political coverage. I can tolerate the other things they try to cover, but when it comes to politics, I have to turn to FOX on television or CNS online news. When you've got millions of people on food stamps, and countless more out of work, with no relief in sight, you know that that is big government pretending to look out for you. Guess what, folks? It's not going to. This administration is also not committed to keeping our borders closed and protected, thus inviting potential terror into our own land. It doesn't just seem that we are trapped in this administration, but that's exactly what we are: trapped.

Then came last year with the Benghazi attacks on our U.S. comrades overseas and the people related to them that now have to live with their losses and nothing to adequately explain them. President Food Stamps, along with our Secretary of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton, failed to act in a timely manner against these horrible acts. In fact, they haven't even acted at all. Makes you wonder about today's Democratic Party, who apparently seems to tolerate harmful acts against our own people, and in that same party is a president who has gone around apologizing to other countries for our prosperity, power, and success, believing that we should be "just another country" at the table of nations. We still don't know a lot about Barack Obama, other than he'd lived in Chicago for a number of years, taught law, and smoked dope while still in college. Don't we need to know more about someone who remains secretive on so many things, including his own life? Oh, and that night of the Benghazi attacks? Our president went to sleep knowing exactly what was happening out there, and upon his sleep, he had awakened to get on a plane and head off for another one of his silly fundraisers. Sounds like someone with a his priorities really straight, don't you think? No way. And such actions, along with all the explaining he's had to do since, are just plain unforgivable. Following all of that were the presidential debates and the subsequent election. In a time where conservatives needed to stand up and not just beat a sitting president (and he ain't much of a president), but also beat a disease called socialism. It's the opposite of capitalism, for which the American Dream was built upon. The vote also came down to two things battling one another, and that's liberty or tyranny. One vote, liberty or tyranny, and on Election Day, tyranny won. What's done is done. Conservatives should be blamed only because we did not get our base out in the numbers we needed to beat the enemy (I refuse to call it just a political adversary). The liberals got their gang of thugs out (and, of course, a few of them cheated), but conservatives did not do their part, despite valiant efforts from grass-roots causes, as well as talk show hosts Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, and Sean Hannity. And we as Americans are now paying a high price. Apathy and indifference don't do anybody justice. They didn't get the country built, and they don't help our people win elections. We now must pay a high price for indifference. Elections can bring forth good fruit (depending on who you vote for), but they also bring consequences (re-electing a do-nothing president who is not interested in our best interests). It is the American people, the good and the upstanding, the hard-working and the dedicated, the truthful and caring, who now must face the face of tyranny, and that comes courtesy of a big government entity bent on trapping us, snaring us, and shackling us.

I have no doubt that the Obama administration is God's judgment that's been placed upon this great country. Because we've all sinned, and because we've all taken too many things for granted, through our own beliefs, unbeliefs, actions, and/or inactions, we are now facing the ultimate in a nightmare. My mom even concurs with this opinion, as we've talked quite a bit about this. These are the end times we're living in now, and, as the Bible does say, the battle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities. I'm also not saying that we're going to stay trapped in this tyrannical administration of government, as there are opportunities in the form of elections. We've got them coming up in 2014 (midterm) and 2016 (Presidential) to help us try to get out of this hot mess. But even the smaller elections are just as important. What we must do is vote for conservatives who will go in and serve in a proper way, the way the Constitution set them out to do. Not only that, but we must turn our attention to God, who loves us and desires for us to love Him. Now, more than ever, America must get on its knees and pray. If President Tyranny continues to pry his way toward government reliance defeating self-reliance, then we will face a world we'd never dream we'd see. And one I hope we won't have to face.

We get the kind of government we deserve. And elections have consequences.

You could say that the current administration's not doing so hot right now.

"Go through many history books, and you'll see"
    This reminds me of a quote from Prof. Harold Bloom;

" American history is often misread."

And I will add that our future is often misjudged

Well, I was referring to history books of the past and about some of the first presidents who helped found our country, but you've got a great point. Of course, none of that really matters to today's liberals.

This generation shall not pass, until all these things be fulfilled

I grew up in a church and in a community that put a lot of emphasis on the soon return of Christ.
The Presbyterians and the Methodists nearby did not but rather put their emphasis on getting children on to higher education; which has moved them way ahead of our group.
Our folks didn't think there was any need to make long term plans because they were going to be interrupted anyway.
The verse I quoted above, Matt. 24:34, also confuses Jesus teaching about a second coming.
I realize that millions of people believe the way you do and so far they and we are still waiting.
