The Price of Living

People tend to forget the past, but I can recall,
when we rented a 2 bedroom duplex apt.for 50 dollars a Month!
What are rents nowadays 1200..1500...?
When the price of bread reached 2 dollars a loaf(and that's on sale!),I couldn't believe it
,in the 50's I can remember bread being 30 cents a loaf.
For example ,a candy bar for a dollar?
We used to get full sized candy bars for 10 cents apiece!
The price of soda too is more than it should be...a 16 ounce Pepsi in 57 was 5 cents!![OK](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/oglvvd.gif)
Gasoline was cheap back then too..50 to 60 cents per gallon.
Last but not least ,The airwaves were Free,
no monthly cable bill,no cell phone, just a device that did one thing well...make phone calls.
