Thanks for all of the responses to my first two posts.
Here's another question. I find it's very hard to understand the Bible just by reading it on my own. It's just so deep. I've checked some study guides out of the library, but I've found the same verse can be interpreted 10 different ways, depending on the author's denomination. How do I know that a particular interpretion is correct?
I can ask my pastor, but I certainly can't call him every day. I was wondering what more mature Christians do to reveal what God really meant each Scripture to tell us. Thanks.

well......try reading the New testament .......the first three people have a similiarity that is great for starters.... Personally , however, I like to open just the new testament to a random page , with my eyes closed , put my finger on a page and open my eyes. Most of the time, being totally open minded and all, this will unlock the book(bible) in ways that braid your life right into what you are randomly reading....no horoscope could ever make you feel like you will at that moment....also.....try to relate to the people...like if maybe they are talking to you......s/c
or ......try finding all the little chapters or names of folks in the new testament towards the end......or.....try Hebrews......read it thoroughly the name barak is mentioned relate that name to the one you know of......have fun and remember its the new testament.....the old testament is good, but it can confuse folks because it was pre-Jesus and the world was extremely wicked and ya.....Posted 04-20-2013 at 11:29 PM by Thanaccsta777
