Here's another question. I find it's very hard to understand the Bible just by reading it on my own. It's just so deep. I've checked some study guides out of the library, but I've found the same verse can be interpreted 10 different ways, depending on the author's denomination. How do I know that a particular interpretion is correct?

I can ask my pastor, but I certainly can't call him every day. I was wondering what more mature Christians do to reveal what God really meant each Scripture to tell us. Thanks.
Very good question, most answers i read on hear to your question are far to complex some truth, lots of error. Simpy put the bible interprets itself. There several simple principals u need to know, here are afew, the bible either interprets itself right in the verse or the context or a word or words have been used somewhere else in the bible. U need to know to whom is the verse written to,the judean, gentile,or the church of god. What adminastration is the verse talking theres 5 in the bible original paradise, patriarchal, grace, appearing, final glory. Figures of speech much be considered, orientalisms, one of the best research bible is the companion bible by e.w. bulinger a youngs analitical dictunary, and a greek interlinear bible, are about all u need to work and understand most scripture. All in all its not really that comfusing just takes lots of research and time but there is no greater quest in life but to get to know god through his word.if i can help u with any questions let me know.

well......try reading the New testament .......the first three people have a similiarity that is great for starters.... Personally , however, I like to open just the new testament to a random page , with my eyes closed , put my finger on a page and open my eyes. Most of the time, being totally open minded and all, this will unlock the book(bible) in ways that braid your life right into what you are randomly reading....no horoscope could ever make you feel like you will at that moment....also.....try to relate to the people...like if maybe they are talking to you......s/c

or ......try finding all the little chapters or names of folks in the new testament towards the end......or.....try Hebrews......read it thoroughly the name barak is mentioned relate that name to the one you know of......have fun and remember its the new testament.....the old testament is good, but it can confuse folks because it was pre-Jesus and the world was extremely wicked and ya.....
