Want More Sunshine-looking to relocate

I have been reading a lot of blogs with good questions with good answers for people looking to relocate to MB/MI/PI and responses from residence. It has been very helpful.
We are going to take the advise of many and look for a place to rent for 6-12 months to get a better feel of which residential areas would fit us best before we decide to purchase a house. We are required and will be checking out single level living.
Would someone be able to recommend some nice apartment complexes the would allow 2 cats and be close to Murrell's inlet or the lower part of Myrtle Beach area? We would be looking for a 2 bedroom/2 bath place minimum. It seems as though the few houses for long term rental require a 12 month commitment. We are thinking more like 6 months in case we find the house of our dreams in the first few months. Either furnished or unfurnished would work and we would need to have a washer/dryer in the place. We are going to sell ours with the house because it is a gas dryer and it seems as though most places in the area are all electric.
