Southwest Katy / Fulshear Development

It looks like Wal-Mart is going to attempt to place a store on the NEC of FM1464/FM1093. Perfect enough for Wal-Mart not to enter the city of Fulshear, and close enough to take the money from the people in this area. Now it's time for H-E-B to move into Cross Creek Ranch to compete against Wal-Mart.
Fulshear needs more "Small Town" businesses to kill off the idea of Wal-Mart. Check this site plan out:

It's TRUE! My understanding is that the taxes will go to Houston, but Katy/Fulshear get the traffic congestion and crime that can come along with a 24-hour store. Development is coming; there is no way around it with the housing and money that is moving to the area. I would be ok with a store that was open from 8 or 9am until a reasonable evening close, but for those of us that live up here, this impacts our morning commute even further, and with the taxes not going to our area, the traffic could get really out of hand.
There is a change.org petition that is going around CCR and some of the other new subdivisions that we'd like others of the same mindset to sign and share! If we get involved as a community, we can make a difference!
