Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

Life Continues On --- And Other Ramblings

Posted 12-22-2012 at 05:06 AM by case44

Well, let's see, it's Saturday morning. I'm awake. I've got Starbucks Pike Place blend of coffee brewing as per what I do every morning. All the buildings are intact outside and it's even cold out there. Guess I can conclude that the world did not come to an end yesterday (being Friday the 21st), I'm still here, and you're reading this.

So, I've got KOKE-FM out of Austin, Texas streamlining on my computer. That's always something for me to look forward to every week as Tom Allen presides over the weekly broadcast of "The Country Gold Show", as all of their loyal radioland fans will be up listening to it. What's Case up to now? Well, this, plus, I'll be finishing up all my Christmas shopping later on. Groceries for the coming week have been purchased already. I'll have a short list of chores to do for this day. The sun's going to shine later on, much like it did yesterday during the end of the world. Life is still good and still worth living with every waking moment. I'll be expecting you other bloggers to be on here writing something new between now and the New Year.

Just goes to show that my blog post from the other day proves my point to the tee. In case you missed it, it's this one: https://www.city-data.com/blogs/blog3...wont-last.html ... We'll never know the time or the day when Jesus will come back with the sound of the trump. Never listen to anyone who tells you that the world is going to end at (enter time and day here). Face it, sports fans, it doesn't work that way.

Glad that we're all still here in the flesh. I don't know about you, but I'm looking forward to baseball starting up again.

And I'm glad that I'm reading this column, too, Case. When it's time to go, it's time to go.
