Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

It Isn't The First Time, And It Won't Be The Last

Too often, we've heard too many people mouth off about a specific day they believe the end of the world will be. I have to sit here and just laugh it off, because I really don't know, and neither do these so-called prophets of the day. The latest word from those who prophesy is that the world, they say, will come to an end on December 21, 2012. A fellow by the name of Patrick Geryl over in Belgium said it'd happen.

Let's see now,...................only.......eight days away as I'm writing this.

I'll put it to you folks like this: I'm approaching the 21st as I would any other day, and that it will be just another day. It will be a Friday, and I plan to be on City-Data that day doing my usual Friday traditions on the Music forums. I may do a few apartment chores, run some errands, and do a wee bit of cooking (unless I get those sudden cravings for takeout). We do not know the time, the day, or the second that Jesus Christ will come back to the Earth to take His people and His believers. So says God's Word. It is for Almighty God to decide when the last day of this earth will be; it's not up to anyone else. That's the way it is. As I said, this bit is the just the latest from another Hal Lindsey wannabe, and this one won't come true, either. And the truth is, neither will the next one or the next one or the next one. You can listen to all the town criers all you want, but you'll be waking up the next day asking yourself...............well, you know.

See you all on the 22nd, when I'll be waking up listening to my Country Gold on Austin's KOKE streamlining from my computer, watching a real sunrise over an earthen horizon still intact, and I'll have a coffee cup in my hand...............with coffee................

..........made with real bottled water and electricity!
