Apparently, I never know what I am going to do next

As a young woman (after my terrible twenties) I always had a plan. I had a life plan, with five and ten-year milestones. I had yearly, monthly, weekly, and daily plans. My daily planner was mapped out in quarter-hour increments until I finished my degree -- it took 13 years. ![Stick Out Tongue](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
Did everything go to schedule? No. But for those occasions I had back up plans -- aka: "contingencies." Get attacked in a ladies restroom -- no worries, plan for the recovery, the counseling, the court dates. Move out of state -- not a problem. Find new apartment, new job, new school. Remap to new locations. Break arm on bike ride -- plan for life in cast, plan to get back on bike. (That actually went through a number of reschedules.)
Now at 56, I don't seem to be able to set a course for the next five minutes, let alone a week, month -- year (forget about it!).
That is why I re-enrolled for another Accounting class, starting Jan. 2nd, after deciding I was giving up on that idea. It is why after deciding to knit the flame patterned scarf I am now charting a design to use a bird's eye stitch and the other red yarn from my stash. It is why I am NOT reading my Payroll accounting homework, nor am I applying for one of the three jobs I've identified for this week.
Or, maybe I will just go sew.
Is there a known disorder where on changes OCD for ADD?![Embarrassment](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/redface.gif)

Don't we all just long for our terrible twenties again?
I wouldn't mind being 28 again (I'm 46 now).
And tell Bigun ol' Case said 'hello'.Posted 11-10-2012 at 06:28 AM by case44 -
Oh God NO. Never, ever ever again do I ever want to go through the 20s. Every year of my life it has gotten better. I still have my trials and tribulations, but I have grown and learned from every hardship. I would never choose to re-live another minute. This present moment is too precious to turn my attention from it.
And I will certainly give Big' a big hello for you -- but at 46 you are hardly old! I've got ten years on you.
