Some of us go to great lengths to find a mate in order to avoid being lonely. We don’t like the single life and will do anything to connect with someone. However, sometimes we do all the right things to find someone and yet we find ourselves being lonely. Are you one of those singles meeting several people but aren’t having much dating success? Did you know embracing the single lifestyle just might help you find someone? Here is some information on how enjoying the single life can actually lead to love.

You find peace of mind. You’ve tried hard at dating, but you haven’t found much success in making a match. So you decided to make yourself happy by embracing the single life. Did you know by taking a break from dating and not thinking about it will help you relax? Sometimes we become so engrossed in the quantitative aspects of the dating process we forget to have fun and enjoy ourselves. We worry about things like do I look good, will my date look good, will there be interesting things to talk about and so on. And when the dates don’t working out, we start to believe there is a problem with the other persons or with ourselves. Are my standards too high, too low and so on? When we consciously and sincerely stop this cycle of negative thinking, we begin to realize that our dating stresses are manufactured.

You have more confidence. You’ve made the decision that being single is not the end but the beginning of a new chapter. And because you embrace your new status by not allowing the thoughts of being lonely occupy your life, you’ll notice that you have more time on your hands. What to do? How about taking the photography class you’ve been talking about or taking those salsa lessons to stay active? Taking the plunge to learn new and exciting things will help build confidence. As you learn and master new things, you displace negative thinking with ideas and skills that help you look at life from a new and fresh perspective. You grow. And when you grow, you will feel good about yourself.

Be true to yourself. Are you new or familiar with singledom? Do you feel the urge to find a partner so you won’t feel as lonely? Sometimes we may hide behind words or act in a certain manner in order to avoid being single. The truth is you really don’t need someone in your life if you are going to compromise who you are. The singles we interviewed who chose to embrace the single life enjoy life to the fullest because they deal with the world on their own terms. These individuals exhibit positive attitudes and are just as happy as couples. We are naturally attracted to these people.

Being single is neither a punishment nor a curse. On the contrary, being single is an excellent opportunity to reflect upon who you are and to explore what is truly important to you in life. Once you begin thinking positively, you will find yourself at peace. And when your mind is at peace, your person becomes more relaxed and easy going – your attitude changes. When you decide to return to the social scene the pressure to find someone is no longer there and you will find yourself having more fun and enjoying yourself.

Luv,
