Coeur D Alene gun shop reviews...

Posted 10-22-2012 at 07:10 PM by DEADTIME

Note the following is my opinion and what I have experienced your experience might differ but I'm just telling it like I see it.

Northwest Pony Express
Nice guys, very willing to send and receive weapons via their FFL for 30 bucks. The guns they stock are mostly collectibles with few modern black rifles. They also stock bows, saddles, guitars and leather working supplies. They have a good gunsmith in store. I enjoy this store a lot though the older guns aren't my thing the store has a very upscale feel to it.

If you are into cowboy action or just like the older classics its a great store. If you need modern gear, AR's, AK's, M1A, or modern shotguns they probably won't have what you want but the shop is worth a visit based just on atmosphere.

Triple B guns and ammo
The worst gun store experience I've ever had bar none. When you walk into the store you will be surprised at just how well stocked it is after that its all down hill.

In the center of the store are a set of chairs, these chairs are for the owner and his friends, from here he can chat with his old buddies and ignore you. I came in looking to spend some good money, I was looking to drop 3000 bucks on a rifle (M21 with walnut stock).

I looked for some time until the loan working employee moved slowly over to ask if I needed anything, I asked if he had an M21 and he said no...the sheepishly whispered that I should mail order that because the owner won't order one for me.

I was a bit surprised that the employee was telling me upfront that the owner couldn't be bothered but at least he was being honest.

One of the owners friends saw my dog tags hanging from my neck and got up and asked me what was going on, I think he was a bit ashamed that the old owner was ignoring a soldier (he hadn't even acknowledged my presence)

I told him what I was looking for, he asked the owner who didn't even look up at me he just grunted "don't have that" and went back to talking about fishing.

The owner treats the store like his club house and if your not in the club you won't get his attention.

Both the employee and the old friend looked embarrassed by the treatment I had just received. Needless to say I ordered the rifle and had it sent to another local shop.
