Okay, the CPI-W came in at 228.184 for September.

That would be less than the 229 I was guestimating, in part because of this...
Electricity -1.5
...so electric rates in the US declined (we're just not sure where that actually happened). It stacks up like this....

The 3rd Quarter Avg for 2011 was 226.936 and the percent change is...

....rounded to 0.017
for a 1.7% COLA increase for 2013 starting in December 2012 and first appearing on the January 2013 checks.

Next up will be all three graphs showing when each of the Trust Funds (DI, HI & OASI) will be bled dry.
