Technically it is Friday however, I have not yet been to bed so for me it is still Thursday. Not that it really matters to anyone but me and my lack of a regimented sleep pattern.

I was just on the phone with my husband and as usual the call was dropped. He drives a truck for a living and is gone yet again. Not that this is a different scenario than most every other day of our lives I just tire of being alone sometimes. Believe it or not after all these years it is worse right after he has been home for a few days. Oh well, such is our life and we keep rolling down the highway much like the wheels of that truck.

I just finished dishes a few minutes ago and thank goodness that task is done. I do not have a dishwasher or a large sink so it can take me 4 rounds of washing and letting dry and putting away to get all of the dishes done. As usual the last task is to wash off the stove and the counters. I would do it sooner however, I have a small kitchen so when I have lots of dishes to wash they are generally stacked on the stove and the counters until they are washed. Hence the reason they are the last things to be cleaned up.

It has been a pretty uneventful day around here which is also a normal in our home. We don't have much company, mail or phone calls. Nice, quiet, drama free for the most part and we like it that way. It sounds boring to a lot of others however we have come to enjoy boring very much. The most I did today was the dishes and get the chicken tenders cooked that needed to be cooked.

I did something a wee bit different with them though. I had a bacon and tomato sandwich earlier in the day for lunch so, I put the unbreaded chicken tenders in the same pan and fried them in the bacon grease. They taste like chicken so I guess that is all that matters at the moment.

If you wash dishes yourself do you think about other things while you are washing the dishes? It is a mundane task but is it mundane enough to make your mind wander to other places? Sometimes I just focus on the task at hand and washing the dishes. Other times my mind wanders to the tasks I have yet to complete that day. Not that I have many tasks daily because it is me and my husband, one dog and one cat. No children at home. I have normal tasks as far as the house goes just keeping things tidy, dishes done, laundry done and the sweeper run. Since we have a small home it does not take very long to complete all of my tasks for the day if I start and continue until all chores around the house are completed.

The longest it takes is about 2 hours and that includes getting all the linens washed and dried as well as the clothing that needs washed and dried. Overall not a bad deal as far as house chores go. Outside is a bit of a different story though. We have about 1/2 acre to mow and that takes at least 2 - 3 hours even with the riding mower. We haven't really mowed much this season though because of the drought so the time I have spent outside has been minimal.

Other than that nothing much today and I'm not real sure why I am writing at the moment. Just something to do to clear my skull and my soul I guess. I really should be getting to bed though, I do have to run into town tomorrow and get a couple of errands completed and that will be the highlight of my day. Unless of course I stop at the grocery then that will definitely be the icing on the errand running cake.

Oh well, I'll see what tomorrow brings.
In the mean time a thought to ponder if you choose to do so.

When you are mowing, folding laundry, doing dishes or some other mundane task what do you think about if you think about anything besides your task. Perhaps that is the time you clear your skull and your soul and sort out some of the clutter in there and get it dealt with and tossed in the trash, in the archives or given away to God (or whomever you believe in if you believe in anything).

I wish you all the best, thank you in advance for reading this, have any kind of life you choose and God Bless You....
