Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken.
Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.![Stick Out Tongue](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!
Regards,

Another Year Older, But Please Hold The Year's Supply Of Just For Men
Posted 07-18-2012 at 04:19 PM by case44
This is a time of year where I eat more chocolate than most factories would produce.
At least, if you take inventory in the last five days. Cookies and cakes coming at me like gangbusters, dinners with relatives, gift cards, to name a few, and you might not believe this, but the folks at work gave me not one, but two birthday cards. Am I that special?? ![Stick Out Tongue](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
Maybe I need to turn 46 more often. It's just not as sexy as 45, numberwise. I do thank all of those who sent me this and that, and, as always, it's really that thought that counts every time. Imagine when I get to fiddy (50). Well, we can chase that rabbit later on, but I won't be near as fast by that time. Heck, said rabbit will likely be faster than ol' Case used to be. Let me just enjoy 46 first. I'm still as gray as yesterday, but I'm not ordering any Just For Men just yet.
I'm resigned to the fact that my brown hair is mixed with some gray, so I'm sucking it up and dealing with it. Besides, life is lived by each individual one day at a time, so why not enjoy it? No point in complaining about hasn't been, what didn't or what wasn't. 'Tain't worth it. I make a choice to smile each day no matter what, so that's what I'll do. But I can also pause and count my blessings and name each of them one by one. I lived to tell about that new sunrise, as well as the very minute I turned 46, which happened while I was at work. Remember, there are folks out there that don't get to be 46 years of age. A few people I've known in the past, sadly, never even made it past 30. God willing, I'd love to get to fiddy. Save your celebration plans, folks; we've first got to get to that milestone.
Other than that, I look the same as yesterday and yestersecond.
Still doing the same routine, and on a different day. I'm still sprinkling some blog powders all over your computer screen. Just don't expect me to parachute naked out of an airplane anytime soon.

At least you've spared the people on that plane.
