Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken.
Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.![Stick Out Tongue](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!
Regards,

Why Work Might Sometimes Make A Good Roller Coaster Ride
Life sure is strange, sports fans. All I wanted was two straight good days in a row at work to start off my week. Actually, this would have been five straight good work days in a row if you count the three I worked last week, but that's in the rear-view mirror now. ![Big Grin](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Funny how I can have a smooth shift until two things happen in my life: When it's time to go to lunch and when it's time to wrap up my shift. Things just went haywire today at both of those times, as the work volume in outbounding went into overdrive both times. The rest of the time, however, things had gone smoothly. The stress of meeting deadlines and getting problems solved adequately can get to people from time to time that I've occasionally caught myself almost employing every cuss word in the sailor manual.
Mondays are like a box of chocolates, as a certain movie character once said or might say. You know the rest, so I don't have to repeat it. Yesterday? Cake. It usually doesn't go that way on Sunday. Granted, Mondays are never a picnic, anyway, but it could have been a little different, could it?
The ups. The downs. Such is life, but such, also, is work. Maybe they should make a Six Flags ride out of same. ![Big Grin](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Oh, well. Lamenting doesn't do much good. These are the kinds of days I'd prefer to forget. Look at it this way: If I'm going to go through hell, I might as well get paid to go through it.
