There's NOTHING Better Than Kayaking

Posted 05-07-2012 at 05:15 PM by LookinForMayberry

I know, you might say there is One exception, but I disagree. There may be times when THAT is better, but kayaking is good ALL the time!

We've been home from our first trip out on the water for this season and I feel TOTALLY relaxed. There is just something that floating over the ebb and flow of the waves, rhythmically paddling in a nice, loose cycle -- it just draws the tension from me.

It was such a beautiful day for it, too. Sunny in the low 70s with just the hint of a cool breeze. Blue skies. We went out mid-day so there were not many boats on the water. We took off out of Waverly Park in Kirkland and paddled south to just short of Carrilon Point in Kirkland's central business district, admiring the million dollar homes on the waterfront.

We stopped by the waterfront park where we released Mom's ashes last December. I sat there on the spot where we released them and just gazed around, watching the kids play in the wading area, dog-walkers, couples holding hands, mother's gossiping as they watched their youngsters. It's just where Mom would like to be.

I think all is right with the world, in this perfect day.

God be with you in your health and your sickness, in your joys and your sorrows.
