An Old Favorite

Psalm 23:1-3 - 1.The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. 2.He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3. he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. The word "Psalms" comes from the Septuagint (the pre-Christian Greek translation of the Old Testament) meaning a poem accompanied by a musical instrument, and the 23rd Psalm has been a favorite with people for many years. I think that even those who don't read the Bible at all have heard it somewhere or from someone and can recite parts of it. It uses poetic language to tell us the familiar message it contains. That is that God is always with us and takes care of us. His sending of his only son Jesus to die on a cross to be the sacrifice for our sins displays how much he cares for us. John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. - Jesus was the only one who could obey his father's law, lead a sinless life and die for our sins, because no one else was or is qualified. What About Jesus?
