Irrational Life

I used to think that life was rational and could be self-directed. Oh, the folly of youth!
DH used to have a few aphorisms that used to drive me NUTS because they didn't fit into my nice, neat little package view of my world:
He was correct, on all three counts.
There's another that is also true: "Life is what happens when you are making other plans."
The amazing thing is that being wrong on all counts is actually very relaxing.
Now, I am not making plans, though I may have intentions, I am okay with changing them at whim, when a more attractive alternative comes along, or when necessity circumvents.
All I have to do is stay present to the changing circumstances in my life, and try to choose the best option available to me when I have more than one choice -- and there is always more than one choice.
Deeeeeeeep breath. Siiiigggghhhh.
Life is better, now.
Thank you, God, for my expanding awareness of my real world that You've created (instead of the one I've made up in my tiny pea-brain).
God grant each and every one of us the serenity that only existence in this moment brings.
Amen.

- "Life is not linear."
