I spent 2 years in Tucson in the '50s. I grew up in NY and was sent out there to help cure a serious asthma condition. Despite missing a great deal of time from school in NY, I was never sick a single day in Tucson.
Some of my great memories include, Sahuaro school which was a boarding school for asthmatics, the Hidden House ice cream parlor, Hi-Corbett field, Saturday matinees, A Mountain, the Pago Pago restaurant and the Cleveland Indians spring training games.
I also lived on N. Martin street near U of A for 1 year. It was some of the best times of my life.
