Ode to Parents of Sick Children Everywhere

This isn't for those whose small children are down with their illness, but for those whose children are sick and don't know it yet. The ones you are told to keep quiet -- especially those whose children are the ones that are energetic. (Is that all of you?)
I've heard from older (wiser) people that you cannot escape life's lessons because life has a way of finding out what you've avoided. I avoided parenthood -- pets are so much easier, right?
Well, maybe not.![Think](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/think.gif)
Day One was "okay" for Bigun. I think the muscle relaxers and pain medication cause him to react lethargically -- or maybe it was just because he'd had that big walk to the park and the play time before taking him to the vet clinic. Whatever. He napped most of the day after we got home.
Friday, he seemed subdued. Snoozed alot.
Yesterday, he started the whining. I started getting out different toys that he could play with (under supervision -- he's a fierce toy killer). Last night, toys were so OVER. What's next, Mom?
I was afraid he would not sleep last night, which would mean neither would I, but thankfully he went out when the lights did -- with a bit of grumbling.
This morning, when I woke him to take his first pill, he was ready for fun.
I think it gets harder from here...![Frown](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/frown.gif)
So, my hat is off to you parents everywhere. At least I can keep Bigun on a lead to restrict him. And though he can whine and grumble, he won't be challenged in his adult years by any of this (I hope). I guess I really do have it easier after all.
God bless the parents, everywhere.
