This is a blog about my thoughts about different places and sociological aspects of life.
What I Like About Oxnard, CA
I was born in Oxnard, California. A medium-sized city in Southern California.
I have relatives from an hour to two hours away from that city. And also have my parents two and a half hours away.
My parents and siblings lived in that area for the majority of their lives.
I enjoy there being malls with high-end apparel stores to shop at and trendy restaurants to eat at.
I enjoy diversity like having friends different than myself and also having friends who think similarly than myself and I also enjoy experiencing other ethnicity's lifestyles like their food, celebrations, and customs.
I enjoy going to a large church where I can meet different people who share my same faith and also can relate to me.
I enjoy the city having places up open til at least 10 or 11pm.
I enjoy looking over a hill and seeing suburbia.
I enjoy cruising the streets and looking at different suburban neighborhoods.
I enjoy the beaches and trails to hike in Southern California.
I enjoy the cool coastal weather or the warm inland weather, but without snow!
I enjoy there being a large selection of jobs and jobs with GREAT benefits.
I like the affordable areas to live and also the more pricey areas to live.
I like the closeness to other malls.
I like being near the Ronald Reagan Library in Simi Valley.
I like there being a family fun center aka Golf N Stuff in Ventura.
I like there being Olive Garden and El Torito in Oxnard and Cheesecake Factory in Thousand Oaks.
I like hearing about city politics.
I like there being a diversified political spectrum in Ventura County with coastal areas being liberal and inland areas being conservative.
I don't mind the negatives, but I must admit I wouldn't live in Oxnard forever. My future job can't afford to put a child into a good private high school, so eventually I will buy a house in Camarillo where they have a great public high school. But I will live at least 6-7 years in Oxnard in an apartment until I have at least $50 to earn enough for a house.
