Country life...or what I like about it

Posted 01-04-2012 at 08:52 PM by the city

When I lived in a rural town called Templeton and spent time in nearby rural cities of Paso Robles, Atascadero, Pismo Beach, Arroyo Grande, and San Luis Obispo this is what I considered to be the country life:

Safety. Crime rates are lower in rural areas as people live far about and rich people live away from the poor people as do middle class people live far away from the other two.

No traffic. Less businesses, less people, and less places to go for fun means less people driving on two and one way highways.

Low air pollution. Usually less cars on the road and less people in the area means less smog and better air quality and especially for people with breathing problems.

Entertainment. Different type of entertainment in the country. Rodeos, more hiking trails, off-roading, walking around a Target or Wal-Mart, bowling, going to the movies, and enjoying small town downtowns is what country life entertainment is about.

More land. Price for rural land is usually cheaper and more abundant in rural areas. People can have a farm, a large garden, a ranch even, wineries, or just acres to look out at.

Also the country tends to be more religious.
